Express Entry
Express Entry is a federal economic immigration program which provides a pathway to permanent residence for skilled workers in Canada or overseas.
Interested candidates must apply online by creating an Express Entry (EE) profile, detailing their work experience, skills, language proficiency, and education. After submission, candidates receive a score through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which considers various factors.
The highest-ranking candidates in the Express Entry pool are invited to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence under several federal economic immigration programs.

How Express Entry Works?
Express Entry is an online system used by IRCC to manage permanent residence applications for skilled workers.
Step 1: Eligibility Check
At this stage, you can either respond to a series of questions listed on the portal or review the eligibility criteria for each program.
Step 2: All documents gathering
When creating an Express Entry profile, you’ll need various documents, including language test results, an educational credential assessment report, and other supporting documents to verify your eligibility for the immigration program.
Step 3: Submission of all profile details
The Express Entry profile gathers all relevant information about the applicant. If eligible, you’ll be placed into the pool of candidates and ranked using a point-based system. Your score is determined by the details in your profile.
Step 4: Get an invitation and apply for permanent residence
IRCC conducts immigration draws every two weeks, inviting the highest-ranking candidates from the pool to apply. If you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), you’ll have 90 days to submit your application for permanent residence. Most complete applications with all supporting documents are processed by IRCC within six months or less.
Important Points
To complete an Express Entry profile, you must submit valid language test results and an Educational Credential Assessment if your education was completed outside Canada and you want CRS points or to qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
Express Entry profiles are valid for one year. If you receive an invitation to apply, you’ll have up to 60 days to submit your online permanent residence application.
